Yes it is difficult to know the difference between all the feather types. Looks like your boy is indeed a satin then. This describes a bird that is silkie in every way except for the feathers which are smooth instead of silkied.

Yes there were quite a few roosters in this hatch. Such a wonderful variety I ended up. Looking forward to adding more next spring. Thanks for your help!
