Sorry about the odd title everyone but I wanted some advice on my little black silkie pullet. She is starting to get some
more feathers in (4-5ish months old) and in the sun or even bright light they seem green or purple depending on the angle (neck, wings, tail). She is definitely a she (I questioned it myself when I first noticed). Is this common? I was thinking about breeding her when she is older to try and produce show quality birds - is this something I should do or is it not appealing for exhibition? Would the green/purple be passed onto her offspring? She is non bearded and has good feet. I would have to try and find a good boyfriend for her if it is worth doing and make another run. What do you think? The pic is from a month or so ago.
