Silkie question- Update

With bearded Silkies, the beard also inhibits them from seeing real well when looking down.

Rooster often peck at the food and leave it for the hens. If you hear them clucking, it is just that they have found a treat and are calling the girl/girls over to eat. That is what they are supposed to do. I have an excellent rooster that never eats the treats or only after the girls have had their fill. Good roosters are so much fun to watch because they are so proud to find something for the girls to eat. They stand back a cluck and many do look all around to make sure thing are safe for his little hens.

He lets the hen and chicks eat first. So does the other roo. But I noticed his crest does obstruct his view, as does that big fat comb. He can't see straight on. The beard does obstruct his sight as well. I will give him a haircut, and make things better and see what happens. Thanks.

Well, I went out this morning and looked. I couldn't find their eyes anywhere. So I gave the two boys bang and beard trims, and a bit of a cheek trim, now I can see their eyes.
Well, they immediately started pecking at things on the ground and were right on target. Poor things couldn't see. Then they kept looking at me, like they've never seen me before, LOL It was real cute.

Lol how funny! I bet they thought it was bright outside too!

I had an amusing mental image: A silkie with it's poof in a pony tail.

My silkie roo is evil, I think if I trimmed him so he could see better, I'd be in trouble. He likes to attack but because he can't see well, I just scoop him up and love on him. He hates that!!!! They are funny after it rains, looking around like they've never seen the world before.
