Silkie Question

I just picked up a pair of white Silkies and a bunch of blue chicks...

I was thinking of showing them (If I can get the standard to make any sort of sense to me!)

How do you guys house your Silkies? In seperate cages? In a regular old coop? I took one look at all those white feathers, and thought well, they can't go out into the pen if I want to show them, right?

And after they are done showing, do you put them in breeding pairs? Trios? In cages or coops?

Honestly I got them because I desperately need stuff that will go broody (I stink at hatching!) But uh oh, man they are stinking CUTE!

I'm more of a rabbit person, and they are almost as cute as fuzzy bunnies are! My son did not seem amused when I kept shoving them at them, ooooh, aren't they cute???

I treat mine like any other chicken...They have a coop and a run.

I do not show by my cousin shows mine and he comes and gets the ones he shows about a week before shows. What he does from then on I don't really know I do know he keeps them extra clean and inside the house.

Maybe someone who shows will come along and help you out a little more.

I ues alot of wood shavings on the floor and give them no corn.
It will turn the hackels a off yellow color...
