Silkie Question

I posted this question before, but then when I go to my posts page, I didn't see it so I guess it didn't work or something.

Anyway....why is it that on some silkies you can see their eyes and on others you can't from all the feathers? Does it just depend on the certain breed of silkie?

I guess it just has to do with how high their crest is.

I got one silkie chick that had a huge bubble head when it was only 1 day old. The other 3 did not and so far it's crest is the largest.

Usually the higher the quality, the larger the crest will be.

Well here's another question...how do you keep their feathers on their feet clean? Don't they occasionally step in poo? I'm asking because I'm interested in maybe getting a couple one day.

I believe that if they are for showing people have them on wire floors.Helps a bit!Otherwise it's washing feet night.

My silkies poo alot! Watch out when you pick them up too, your hands will get poo on them. The best you can do it try to keep their bedding dry.
