Are all silkies bantams? Are they considerably smaller than standard breeds? I'd like to have cochins and silkies but I'm worried about the size difference between the two breeds and bullying issues. We are very cold in winters here and I don't want the smaller birds to suffer. And lastly, I never see pictures of silkies where you can see their eyes? Do they typically always have feathers covering much of their face, eyes, etc?
Thank you!

In Europe they have a Standard size Silkie and someone told me they got a really big one here once.

To get the feathers out of the eyes, if you don't want to trim, you could pull it back in a pony tail (I have one chicken that likes to pull all the hair ties out though) or gel it back.

Or buy a pet quality that doesn't have a big top hat.

their are some large silkies but thats pretty, most people all have batams, they do greta with cochins and other breeds but they generally tend to stick together in a flock of mixed breeds, and some have full feathered faces others faces are more exposed, just depends on the chicken and if u buy a bearded variety
