Silkie questions

What do you do about a pen for silkies when you have a yard that gets extremely muddy every time it rains?
Not too long ago dad went and got a couple of silkies (Adorable little things they are, and SOFT), and yet we have a yard that becomes a swamp almost every time it rains.(And its been raining A LOT lately.)
So what to do?

You can put sand in the pen,,,only let them on grass,,or coop them up when it is wet out

Sand....

not so sure about that...the pens are on a sort-of-a-hill.....

And yes, I'm into a lot of anime.

you can try wood shavings i would suggest hay but if it gets wet it'll mold

You could try straw, or even mulch.

Is there any way you could cover the pen?

i raise mine in above ground pens and coops off the ground. if they can't reach the mud and dirt they stay way cleaner. i raise all my breeds on wire not only due to mud but it protects from preditors better.
