Silkie roo's comb

I just bought a Partridge Silkie pair from a local BYC member. I think he is fine, but I am not as well educated on Silkies as I would like to be yet, so I have a question about his comb. It seems oddly shaped and awfully red for a Silkie. Can anyone with experience with the breed give me some feedback? Thanks.

Can you post a photo that is from the front, rather than just the profile; also a full bofy shot of him?

It does look too light, but is not completely red.

I wasn't crazy about him but wanted the hen, so I took him too and it only came as a pair deal. I have chicks from a hatch a couple of weeks ago, so I think I can work with this. But I will post some front pictures if the silly things would hold still long enough for me.
