Silkie Roost....

Well, I paid good money for a silkie hen with a bum/palsied foot. She wasn't being kept in bad conditions so I wonder if she'd always had this from hatch. Anyway, I just couldn't refuse her. I felt sorry for her... so now Sally is at my place. I washed her little feet and trimmed nails. I like the flower box idea. Sally certainly isn't going to doing any climbing. I'm not sure what the guy had been feeding his chickens but they sure like to eat the crumbles. Thanks all for your responses!

My silkies roost with the big girls. I have a 3ft roost, a 4 ft one and a 5 ft one. Have a ladder up to the 3 ft roost. My silkies are either on the 4 ft one or I've seen them plenty of times on the 5 ft one. Never have seen them on the floor sleeping. Even as younguns they roosted with the big girls.

i took pictures of my silkies sleeping for you.
they are sooooo cute. they used to sleep in a puppy pile but when i put the planter in they all climbed in! there are shavings in the bottom to make it comfy.
