I have a pure bred (at least I was told) Silkie rooster that I need to part with. A friend gave me all his chickens because his kids quit caring for them and he had one of each breed that he bought from a local poultry farmer. I'm raising chickens for eggs and to sell but I don't need the Silkie. He's very good with the hens, rounds them up and keeps them in line when free ranging but he's a little aggresive, doesn't hurt anyone just comes up from behind and surprises you sometimes. 7 out of 8 of the hens eggs hatched that he's the daddy, so he does a good job. I live in central Virginia and I'll deliver within a 50 mile radius.

He's real cute, but he's not pure. His comb is wrong. He does have, from the looks of it, the right feathers, but the wrong comb in type and color. Still... he' so cute! I hope you find a great home for him. I already have too many roos!

Hey thanks Fox, I had no idea. Haven't raised Silkies before. Unfortunately if he doesn't find a home he's going in the frying pan.

Oh NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't raise them and then eat them. I just can't! I eat plenty of chicken, just not my own... nor would I want to see them all feathered and cute and then know I'm eating them! I sure hope he finds a home. Silkie meat is black, as are the bones... just thought I would mention that in case you didn't know. I would hate for you to decide to eat him only to find out you didn't want to! I have no idea as to the flavor of the meat as I have never eaten one and wouldn't want to!

Best Wishes!!!
