Our beautiful Silkie roo that I have been hoping to breed, was badly pecked in the eye the other day, by a Jap roo that he has been living with for almost four years.

When my daughter discovered them, he was just sitting there allowing the other to stand on him and continue to peck him. He might be dead if she hadn't been there. I have him in a large box and haven't seen him eat or drink for two days.

One eye is shut, and is probably gone, the other didn't look bloody, but has a cloudy look in part of it. He tried to peck at the food on the floor but his aim was four inches too high!

If he'll eat and live, I wonder if I can still breed him later this spring. I know I can't return him to the flock.

If he cannot see the girls, he won't be able to breed is my guess. You could always do AI
