Silkie Rooster? Or mixed breed?

I got these roosters at the sale barn. I was told they are silkies. They don't have the puff on top of their heads though. I wonder if they got picked on by other chickens and plucked? Maybe they'll grow back or do you think they are mixed? I don't mind either way... they are cute and both have a sweet demeanor. Just curious.

If they are hatchery stock it's unlikely they will grow larger crests. Need better picture - close ups of comb etc. to evaluate them further. How old are they? Do you just have the two, a black and a white?
