Silkie rooster started sleeping alone.. and outside the hen house.

So yeah just like the title says.. recently my Silkie rooster (Bear) started wallowing out a nest looking spot in some straw and sleeps alone and outside the hen house at night. He used to roost with the girls but no more. I don't have a clue how old he is, as I bought him from someone else last year. Anyone seen them do this? Is he just tired of the girls crap? lol

There could be a predator lurking around or he think there might be and he is keeping watch, other than that I guess he is sick of the girl's crap, like you said.
