What is Indigo, Boy or girl??

This is what I can tell you about him/her.....

S/he is 6 months old
Her Mother and Father are both Silkie/Salmon Fav. mixes.
s/he has a large silkie comb, silkie like crest, 5 toes, black legs. Skin is not as dark as a full silkie but is kinda greyish.
S/he is not crowing but is starting to Cackle like a grown hen.
S/he has not laid any eggs yet but is very red in the wattles they were very pink until just recently and then went to full red and bigger.
S/he has NO silkie feathering.
I have picked up her/his saddle and hackle feathers and I can't see any pointy ones, every once in a while i think I see a curly tail feather.
S/he is the same size as her Mom but stands taller but her Mom stands upright alot of the time too.
I have never seen the chick fight with any of the other Roosters, or see the Roosters try and breed with it. Or Indigo try to breed with the hens in the pen.
She does cackle and run from them like the rest of the young pullets I have had when they move close to her/him.
S/he is in a pen with her Dad and another Silkie Roo,, and 4 laying hens.

I'm thinking Roo but hoping for a girl........ Thankyou for your help! Sandy

Tough call, and really interesting bird! I'm leaning towards pullet since I don't see any saddle or hackle feathers, and they should be noticeable at 24 weeks.

Thankyou Pele! I'm so hoping Indigo is a pullet but it so hard to tell! The first Generation was easy all the girls looked like Indigo's Mom and all the Roos looked like her dad, But with her being SF/Silkie over SF/Silkie and Almost Coal Black (doesn't show in the picture too well) except for a few gold speckles around Indigo's neck its hard. LOL. I think Indigo's an Awesome bird, a little shy right now but as she matures hopefully she'll calm down. If she turns out to be a Roo though I'll have to rehome him

Thanks again, Sandy

I know right???? But it just got like that recently?? about the same time the wattles turned RED and very large. Indigos Dads comb covers alot of his face too. LOL. His is the very last picture. LOL Differnce is his is Huge and really Bulb like and Indigos is very wide but flat to her face.....

Still hoping for a Pullet but afraid shes a Roo! Thanks for the imput s/hes a tricky one for sure.

I still am not 100% sure with Indi, I still Kinda believe he is a boy, though hes about 9 months old and hasn't crowed one time yet! The other Roosters don't mind him being around the girls at all , infact Indi changed his own residence LOL he moved his/her self in with the big chickens just hopped the fence and decided to stay with the biggies and the grown Roosters just acted like well ok...... So Indi is still up in the air I quess til he at least crows or lays an egg> LOL I have seen him bossing some of the girls around but didn't try to breed with them though???? So hes either a very bossy girl or a very laid back Rooster... He also still hasn't gotten any of the male tail feathers or hackle feathers in yet either.....so I just don't know

Maybe it's glare, but I think I see some gold hackle feathers coming through on his neck... plus that comb looks more like his dad's than his mom's. He's adorable! I wonder how he turned out so dark when both his parents have normal faverolle coloring (more or less). Was one of his silkie grandparents black?
