Hi! Sevenbabychicks ! and thankyou!
Its not a glare he does have a golden ring around his neck it is way brighter now then it was when he was six months old they look pointy but when you pick them up and look they are more rounded , he only had a very few flecks then. He may have gotten the gold flecking from the Salmon Fav side because is mom also has it if you look closely and of course his dads straw colored hackles. I think his color comes from the Silkie side of the family LOL his mom and dad are both 1/2 Salmon Fav and 1/2 Silkie where he is Mix over mix (so a double dose of both ) if that makes since I think his grandmother was one of the blue silkie hens ( I only had Blue, buff, and white girls) I know for a fact that is grandfather was my Sal. Fav. Rooster Rally. So it just must be how the 2nd generation thingy works I guess. I Really don't know. LOL. His tail is fanned just like his Moms nothing Roosterish about that at all but he does have the stance of a Rooster though and yeah his comb IS Huge but flat to his head almost like someone painted a quarter and stuck it there! LOL but not near as big as his Dads though , LOL . He also has dark legs where his parents were white. LOL Ill have to take another pic of him soon and post it so you can see the differences in him , I just would think that he would be crowing by now but then again he hardly ever makes a peep. And when he does he sounds just like a hen. He is still the same size just a little more filled out now a tiny bit. Hes just a odd little duck I guess but he is very sweet! I gave all my silkies away as well as his mom and dad to a farm who loves silkies Such a nice couple to take so many!. So I guess I wont get anymore mixes like his Mom and Dad, I really love the females like his mom and miss them so much.
Thanks again, Sandy
edited to say sorry so long! I have a habit of talking to much when it comes to the bird!
