Silkie Sexers.... Need Yor Help Please! What Is Maple ?? Lots of Pics

Maple is a pullet; her walnut comb is very feminine sized, her partridge colouring is very feminine.

Bearded birds (even very masculine roos) rarely have wattles of any size.

You need to trim the tip of her beak so that the top is the same length as the bottom (I use fingernail clippers--just a tiny bit at a time so that you don't cut too much. Seems like many of my birds also have beaks that need rather frequent attention.

Thanks for the reply, and its great you mentioned her beak. I was going to trim, but was afraid. Is it safe to clip just the tip where the "white" is on her beak. Is the beak "dead" in the white area? Like a fingernail? I never had to clip any before. Thanks for the advice!

Could I ask about the coloring? I have 2 partridge silkies - one is very gold and the other looks like Maple, but with bigger wattles. I think they're both roos, but maybe not?

How do you tell if a Silkie has feminine coloring?

I didn't think there was a difference in the coloring too? I only have Maple so I have no others to compare her to. Maybe *Sonoran Silkies* will see this and explain.. I've seen some on here that had darker neck coloring. Maybe thats it ??
