silkie sexing

I just hatched some silkie chicks and was wondering if anyone that breeds them can sex them at day old, or will I just have to wait and see?

You can vent sex them. I know most people would say it's dangerous but I did it and my Silkies fine. You just have to be gentle. Here's video.

Also there's this way. You just look for a slit in the vent.
At the top of the vent is where you'll find the separation. If the circle isn't connected, then it's a roo.

I forgot to say they are now 6 days old now, the pics are from 1 day though. Do they not need to be vent sexed before 2 days, also will this second way work after 6 days?

The slit sexing is the only way now.
Vent sexing later then 3 days will hurt them.

Tried it but failed, they all seem to have no slit. I can always hope there all pullets, not likely for me though. Lol
