s there a bad odor from her face? Is she coughing, sneezing, shaking her head, or swallowing mucus drainage? What antibiotic and dosage are you using? Tylosin powder or Tiamulin (Tiagard or Denagar) are used for treatment of MG (mycoplasma) sinus infection. For coryza, which has a bad odor, sulfa antibiotics may be better. The gunk does need to be removed from the eye, and saline or an eye wash may be used to flush out the eye. Then use some Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin triple antibiotic into the eye twice a day. Have you added any new birds to your flock recently, or have you had any other birds in the past with a respiratory disease? It may take another person holding the chicken wrapped in a towel or blanket, and using a tool or QTips. Here are some graphic videos aon removing pus:
We got her at a local auction with 3 other birds, she is quarantined right now with Corid in her water. I will look into the ointment at the farm store and if not I will get regular neosporin. Thank youHave you added any new birds recently who could have brought in a carrier of a respiratory disease? Could she have been pecked in the eye or have gotten a seed pod or foreign body in her eye? You can get Terramycin eye ointment in many farm stores unless your state doesn’t allow it. In that case you can use plain Neosporin ointment or Polysorin eye drops in eye 2-3 times a day after cleaning it. I would try to remove the pus, since it won’t get better with that inside. You may need to use a tool and Qtips. It may take multiple attempts. Does she smell bad? She looks to have some thick nasal drainage as well. Be sure to clean out her nostrils so she can breathe. Is she eating and drinking? I would try feeding her mushy wet feed up to her beak since she can’t see well. Can you get the Tylosin or Tiagard/Denagard to treat her for MG? Tylosin is available from jedds.com online. If she smells bad, you might try to get sulfa antibiotics to treat coryza. They sell that here:

How is your chicken doing? Has there been any improvement or is the eye better? We got her at a local auction with 3 other birds, she is quarantined right now with Corid in her water. I will look into the ointment at the farm store and if not I will get regular neosporin. Thank you![]()
She is doing better, her eye is a lot better putting ointment on it. Sneezing a lot but seems to be better for the most part. Still keeping her quarantined from the flock. How is your chicken doing? Has there been any improvement or is the eye better?
