silkie sounds like a kazoo

I just heard my two month old silkie make his first attempt at being a roo it sounded like a kazoo it is way funny to listen to is this normal

Yes, the sound like a kazoo. Silkie crows aren't like a RIR. It also takes them longer to get a consistent crow. I had a silkie roo before it was returned to the seller. It sounded like errr... errrr...... (it was missing the errrooooo part) It always sounded like her was clearing his throat. It was weird. Give it a little while longer, his crow will be more consistent.

Hey Belly--my Mumbles started at the same age. He sounds like a kazoo being strangled! Its hilarious to listen to! He is 3 months old now and yesterday while I had the babies outside, he made his first grownup rooster noise when he thought something dangerous was around. Still sounded hilarious! He is a mommas boy though so I dont mind cause he loves to snuggle on me.
