He is a nice looking boy. Ffomwhat I can see, his comb is well shaped, and it is certainly the proper colour. It sort of looks lop-sided, but I assume that is the way he is holding his head or the angle of the photo. It is a bit on the large size, but not so large it would bother me. Too small a comb is associated with low levels of testosterone; something you do not want in a breeding male.

The crest is swept back too much; can't tell is that is a lack of being in condition, or just small in the front.

Spoken like a true honest person, roo crazy!

Dishonest people don't think like that. Doing it the right way is equal to doing it the slow way in their minds. And why should they do it the slow way if they can have what they want right now.....and for free? Not to mention the thrill of getting away with it.

They don't even THINK ABOUT the other person's feelings. If they want it, they take it. Their only fear is getting caught. And if caught or exposed, they will attempt to lie their way out of it.

The only way I know to combat people like this is to expose them so they are known for what they really are by all those around them. Therefore they cannot victimize the honest people without exposure and they move on to another arena where they can deceive again successfully. Usually they go on to escalate their level of theft and risk and eventually get the law involved. It's a downward spiral from there. Sad, but true.

(Yep, I've got a degree in Psych. How did you guess??? HA!)

Well zips won't do much as I learned @ the fall S. Ohio show. I think I took like 12 birds and a sale cage and they were all zipped the night before. Came in the next morning and 2 of the three black I took had their zips cut and one on the AOV's

Now to top off the show. As I was getting them ready I had my grooming box by one on the jersey(?) walls and was going back and forth doing this and that... And two of my grooming supplies were stolen:(
I guess I should zip tie down my supplies in between birds. LOL

WE HAVE BABY SILKIES!!!!!!
3 already hatched during the night, and looks to be at least three more pips (one starting to zip) but i cant see the whole incubator because the incubator window is about the size of a soda can bottom

G'morning y'all!

Well here's my take on it.... These people don't want to go to the effort of raising 100's of chicks and the conditioning process to get them anywhere near ready for the show ring. They are too lazy (and/or cheap) to go through the work themselves of breeding or raising that next show winner. They want your top birds, which usually are the same ones that aren't for sale at any price. If they can't beat you fair and square, they try to undermine your whole breeding program by coming in and taking your foundation birds. The people I am thinking of on my birds....its not an issue of money. Its more an issue of winning at any cost.

Thank god its warming up a lil bit here! It was -14 when I came home from work on sunday night and -8 last night. We might get in the teens above 0 today. Windchills have been 20-30 below 0. Just remember...in 1 night we got enough snow to collapse the Metrodome.

By the Twin Cities, they had up to 21" dumped on them. I think over in my neck of the woods, we only got 14".

I too have babies in the house. I want to move some of the ones that are almost 3 months out to the garage pens with heat lamps....just too darn cold yet though. More batches of chicks coming out of the shell every week now.

Congrats on the new shed!!!

Oh and if you get sick of all the chicks you know who will take some blues, blacks, and splashes off your hands! LOL!

Yes it is cold....I'm procrastinating on heading out to the barn for chores. I believe it was last February when our warmest temp for 2.5 weeks was -22 F. The worst is yet to come....

Rilly....if you are willing to drive up here, I'd probably be able to fit you in for some chicks within the next couple months. Its way too cold to ship even adult birds right now.
