I have a question about lavender silkies!
How many of you have them, for starters? I got myself a chicky yesterday. She's 4 months old and still very dark. At what age do they start turning lighter colors? Searching for lavender chicks on Google, they all seem to be pretty light at an early age? Like very early. Did I not get a lavender??

I know my thoughts!! I am jealous!! I love your girls!!

I only have my black and white Silkies now, and while I love them, I miss my other colors. My avatar is of my dearly missed, sweet boy Rio. I do not know exactly what happened to him. He had been jumped by my Cochin roo and was favoring his leg. I put his up and he was doing better and all of a sudden, he was gone! He was only a couple of years old and I cried like a baby! I kept some of his feathers to put on a wall hanging so he will always be with us. Now that the Cochins have gotten bigger, they are in a big back yard and completely separated from my Silkies!!!!! One of these days, I would like to add more color to my little Silkie flock and looking at your girls makes me want them NOW!!!

I was trying to upload pictures of my girls Amber and Jade, but lost power...

So lets try again. They were hatched 08/29/12
