Silkie thread!

I snuck my babies in the Office yesterday because I gave them bathes and I didn't want them to catch cold. So I brought them in with me to completely dry. Mainly b/c the DH does not allow any chickens in the house

But, My boss loves them so I'm golden!!! I didn't even think I had some nice splashes in the bunch. But, I'm kinda liking these two! The boy is from Pam B. and the girl is from my Blue Pen. She is much more diluted than Pam's boy! Hey Pam does he remind you of Speck?

That's an awesome boss you've got! Very pretty babies too! I love splash!!

Sager, the bird has a lot of potential, but is not of an age to evaluate exactly how good it will/won't end up. For example, back looks long, but I've seen ones that I would have said that that ended up fine. Wings certainly look nice. The one photo where it is lying down does look like she may have wry tail; hope it was just that she was stuffed into the corner.

hate to say this but the bird is 1 year and 5 months old but good news is that it just got done being broody 2 weeks ago so its underfluff and everything is feathering back in cause it lost most of its feathers to keep the eggs warm also her tail is fine but in that 1 pic it dose look like it had wry tail

Beth G....love that you take your silkies to work...i have taken my cochins to work before (school teacher) and the kids ask everyday when they are coming back in. Adelaid decided to go ahead and lay an egg on our sofa in our reading corner...the kids were amazed!

i am dying to rake the silkies in but have been waiting for more warm weather and for them to get a little older...

Well, when a bird is out of condition it can look hideous--even the ones that are drop dead gorgeous when in condition, lol. Post another photo when she finished regrowing all her feathers :)

Thanks, My birds coming to work are definitely not as exciting as yours going to work

I pretty much work alone but, am in a three story building with other ladies down the hall. I've brought my silkies down to show them and they just love their fluffy bodies. One lady was convinced I had a rabbit and not a chicken!!! lol

I love seeing pictures of kids with chickens
