How often do chicks come late? Not all the eggs are silkies, and I normally don't have problems with those hatching. I figured with my luck, the others would hatch and just no silkies, but nothing's hatching. Also, I don't normally count days, but did this time because of the silkie eggs.. The hen started sitting on the 8th.

Give it a few more days they may still be ok the eggs had to warm up under her to start developing.

Sharksandguitars, love it. Are those 2x4s ripped in half lengthways?

Can anyone tell me if I can put LF chickens and silkies in the same pen? My coop is 4x8. And my run is 24'x24'. Will the LF pick on the little guys?

No, I figured I'd just let the hen do her thing. She's been a mom before, and her name is actually Big Momma! lol

Oh and the other eggs are from my free ranging bantams, and they pop out babies left and right, so those should have been fertile at least.

The posts are 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 and they were 8 ft longs and we cut them to size.

ETA-- oooh, just read your other posts. I'd probably candle one or two of them. If you don't want to do that, give them a couple of days.
