Silkie thread!

I candled some of the eggs, and most look made, but no beak.

However, the Silkie eggs were infertile... but maybe one, and I can't even tell what's up with it. Couldn't see much of anything.

Oh well, it's how the cookie crumbles!

Sure, I gotta get my hubby to write up some basics. It is 5x5x3. I have 4 in there right now, and I let me all out for the first half of the day. (My big chickens are out the second half). I think it would be good for up to 6 bantams. I want one for each of my silkie colors.

Thank you, I would love to have a space like this for the Silkies we have now and space enough to get a few more. Dont you just love Chicken Math? lol. Do you have nesting boxes in there?

I took some pictures of my silkies today. My broody hen hatched out an egg and the chick is adorable! Shes in my free range flock and don't have a place right now to separate her so I hope the others don't pick on her or the baby. The dad is blue and she(the mom) is partridge.

The silkies that I'm keeping so far are in a pen with my blue pair. The rooster is very nice to them but the pullet doesn't like them. Speaking of my blue pullet, I'm showing her next weekend and I noticed today that she is limping :(. I'm hoping its nothing serious and that she just sprained it or something. They just got put into a new breeding pen and are having trouble on how to get up to the coop on their new little ramp. Maybe she twisted it trying to climb the ramp?? She didn't come out of the coop this morning so I picked her up and sat her in the run. Although, she was the only one that got up into the coop by herself last night. I guess she could have sprained it then. I felt her foot and it seems like the part that's hurting her is the upper part of her foot but not exactly her leg. Sometimes she walks fine making small steps but when she walks a long distance she limps. Is she going to be okay? I'm worried so much because shes the best silkie I have.

I hatched this one out of one of the two eggs I won off of ebay. The auction wasn't for cuckoo silkies but the person added two cuckoo eggs in with the others. I suspected it was cuckoo because I knew the person had cuckoo silkies. The auction was for BBS,white, and buff silkie eggs.

Is the little coop inside it or attached to the back? Could you take a pic of the back side so I can get a better idea? I want to build one too. Your husband is a genius.
