Thanks all for your comments on my lavender chick. It was the only one of four that hatched but I have a new batch of lavenders in the incubator so I'm hoping for more!

I had a silkie sitting on some pheasant eggs but to my surprise she was hiding a two silkie eggs under all the nesting material...when I got home yesterday, this is what welcomed me as I enter the coop!

New chick, Hatched last night Awwwh what a beautiful little one! Any ideas on colors? (We are working towards lav. So thats what im hoping... but asking the experts!) Never had one look quite like this before!

Sorry, but it looks blue to me. A real cutie though! Here's a picture of a newly hatched lavender chick.

Heartbroken this morning. One of my beautiful 6 mo old blue pullets crowed.....

There are rare hens that crow. I've had one. So sorry for the disappointment

Peep - Thanks for the picture! Blue is good too! Do you sell hatching eggs? Your babies are beautiful! (I do mean all your pictures, adults and babies!). I did have two lav chicks that looked just like that pic, but they both didnt make it. It was crushing! :*( Still more in the bator... we'll see what comes!

All my lavenders are in the incubator right now except the sweetie that I posted a photo of last night, so I'd better not count my chickens before they hatch! lol
