So here's some close ups of the white baby. Wondering what you think of the sex, or is it too soon? 8 weeks old...

I'm worried that it is looking so wide.
Going to be a pretty "girl".

The one in the lower right hand corner looks like it might be a paint, but the other looks like a splash to me. Hard to tell what the more greyish one is...do you have individual pics?

It is hard to say so young...and your bird is confusing a bit. The crest is very roo-ish, but the rest of the face looks very girly. Unfortunately it looks like you are going to have to wait a few more weeks to tell. Thinking girly thoughts for you!

How many weeks is this bird? If this bird is around 10-11 weeks, then I'm voting girl. If it's younger, then hard to say!

Looks like a boy. But 8 weeks is awfully young for anyone to be really sure! Looks like a dandelion on the top of it's head! LOL! Cute!

LOL...I literally just messaged my friend and said that the silkie thread is full of nice people and no one is snippy and has the "I'm better than you" kind of attitude. Thanks Silkie group for being awesome!

We don't even have any silkies (or any other chickens) yet and I enjoy this thread for just this reason. Besides that, there are so many knowledgeable people here. I've learned so much since I found this thread. Although, I do find it difficult to keep up with sometimes.

I know I keep collecting them like Pokemon cards. I want a blue laced next I'd like to breed both my girls so I am waiting right now. I have currently a blue silkie pullet, a smooth splash sizzle pullet, a sebright roo (who is going to his new home tomorrow), a buff orpington pullet, a buff plymouth rock pullet, a unknown color cochin chick, and a buff polish chick. Must. Slow. Down. And. Stop. Bringing. More. Home. lol

And thank you! I love her too. Shes my daughter's bird, but I love her to death!.
