My little Lacy girl is being a good momma and is taking care of her clutch. 21 days and counting, LOL. I really want a Buff, Lavender, Partridge, and Splash so say a prayer that they all hatch for me and are girls :)

I'm sooooo excited!!! Thanks Karen.

That seems to be a personal preference. I personally like the bearded birds better, but I love the non-bearded just as well. I have this blue pullet, 4 months old now. Non-bearded pet quality but I think she is absolutely beautiful.

Even with that sad little hairdo and her flat back end, wings aren't great. She does have FANTASTIC foot feathers though! lol But I think she's great no matter what. I wish I had a better picture of her, this one doesn't do her justice...

I really like the bearded silkies but, your pullet's coloring is easy on the eyes for me and looks great :)

Okay, I finally got some quick and dirty photos taken of my 4 month old Silkies. 5 of the 7 are hatched from Catdance eggs. The 2 whites are a couple of weeks younger and from a different breeder.

I'm hoping you folks can help me determine sex - I know someone is crowing in the Silkie pen and I've got to clear those boys out before the Chicken Police show up at my door! I've got a pretty good guess on a few, but need confirmation. Once confirmed, all these boys are going to be going on Craigslist unless any Washington BYC'ers are interested.

I'll post them one chicken at a time so no one gets overwhelmed with zillions of photos!

Thanks in advance for those who choose to help me with this -

First is our Porcelain who pretty clearly is wearing a badge that says "Boy." Correct?

This one reminds me of a calico kitten. So cute!

Partridge - 16 weeks. I've got another boy on my hands, don't I?

Partridge close up - And I did not notice until I was editing these photos earlier today that the tip of his beak is broken off! I have no idea how that happened. They stay in their covered silkie pen all day. I haven't noticed anything unusual happening in there. Does the tip of the beak grow back?
That red on it's wings looks so vibrant...I don't think I've ever seen a picture of a partridge like this...but then, I'm kind of a newbie. I have a partridge egg from Catdance...I wonder what it will look like?

Aww, the lavender my 20 year old DD claimed as soon as she saw a photo of her. She named her Lucille. The smallest, most demure of the flock and probably the sweetest. DD had girlfriends over a few weeks back and Lucille fell asleep on one of the girl's laps. I've been certain this one was a girl for a long time. Please tell me I'm right!

So I am in love with your lavender! I just received 2 lavender eggs from Catdance and I sooooo hope both of them hatch. My broody hen is laying on the first ever batch of fertile eggs I have. Silly to some but I have already prayed over these eggs...God is in the details, lol.

HELP!
My poor little splash baby somehow got in with the turkeys and looks like it got a little bit of a beating. Bad turkeys!

It's right eye is shut, a little puffy. If I gently pull the bottom lid, it opens but I don't dare poke at it's eye too much at this point. It looks like they might have gotten the corner of it's eye, just the skin. I can't tell if they actually got the eye or not yet. I'm hoping not.

And they got it's rump too! It looks like there's a slight cut. No damage to the vent area that I could find, just right by the tail feathers. It's not bleeding. I sprayed some betadine on it in the barn. When I came in, I rinsed the area with water and sprayed Vetericyn on it.

I have the chick in a box in my house with food and water. I'll go and get some vitamins for it to put in the water. I can't see any other damages to it's body. Hopefully there's nothing internal. The chick is sort of dozing off in a box right now. It's not happy with me when I pick it up, it chirps alot. But it's more of a chirp than your typical chick noise, like "PUT ME DOWN!".
I'll keep the chick in the house for a couple of days to see how it does. Hopefully it'll get better. Next I'll go and try to figure out how it got in with the turkies in the first place!

Is there something else I should do? Or maybe should not have done?
That makes me sad...I hope your little baby is okay and makes a full recovery :)
