I'm beginning to think the "odd chick" is a different breed. it has a white spot on the back of the head and in looking here, some breeds do hatch with a white dot. i didn't know I had a breed that did this, but maybe the silver pencil plymouth rocks do? we'll have to see how this chick develops. And I'll have to be very careful about marking eggs before they're taken out of the silkie coop from here on out. lol
