Even if she has a weird comb, the good thing is that her crest seems big enough to cover it. I think she has a bonnet crest like I've heard people mention. She is just precious....too bad you can't cuddle a picture! I hope my little, white Cream Puff grows into such a pretty girl. Thanks for all compliments on my Macho. It seems he has a fan club![]()
My favorite girl. She's so sweet and calm. Her comb is weird though, so I'm not sure if I could ever show her. It's not a single comb, but not a perfect walnut comb. I'll have to get a picture of it. It's like a walnut comb crossed with something else. She's also been sneezing a lot lately. I hope she's not getting sick.
Gorgeous girl! I sure hope she's not sick....Thanks for all compliments on my Macho. It seems he has a fan club![]()

yes! just like mine. ALWAYS stood that way. crazy, right?I posted the results on the NCK thread, but here they are as well.
Yep! I thought from day 1 "oh no way is that a girl!"yes! just like mine. ALWAYS stood that way. crazy, right?
Me too. And this was a replacement chick becuase one other chicken I had I swore was a male. developed so quickly in the comb etc. And always alerted the others LOL. And so I thought the replacement I got was another boy. Ended up they were all females. And that is how the chicken obsession began. What was supposed to be 4, turned itno 6 which turned into who knows how many hehehehYep! I thought from day 1 "oh no way is that a girl!"
Finally got round to taking some photos of my nervous nell. She is five months old.
And this is how she spends a lot of her days, sitting there on a stump watching the others. Originally the roo used to bale her up in there but now he seems to be more concerned she isnt with the others and will come over to the house and seem to be more like he is waiting for her than stopping her getting out.
She will sit there and make what I always thought was the hey Im laying and egg cackle noise very loudly.
The rooster seems to have changed his attitude towards her a bit over the last week or two, he no longer seems to be making her life hell but she is still very nervous around him. Strangely she also seems to stick to him like glue when she is with the others. I havent seem him peck or try and mount her in that time either.
So is there a chance this is in fact a rooster not a hen thus the strange nervous behaviour? It is coloured like a partridge hen though so that was why Ive been thinking girl.
Here is a pic of the Partridge wingNice! I will try and get a pic of her wing and you will see why she will be a Partridge, tomorrow, as I am about to head to work.Actually I would use her for porcelainYeah, the Partridge was a little tricky for Marge. She said she would be on the lighter side for a Partridge but could breed her to get darker chicks. Right now their purpose for us is to be pets/brooders. We will possibly show one if we can find time. Once I know my DW is hooked on them, I am sure we will start breeding them out with color pens.. Funny thing is I found my BYC page opened to the POW article, I read that the day it was posted. My DW was working on the laptop and was obviously reading on my account. Hahahaha, let the obsession begin on her

here is my girl at the same age as yours
and here she is now![]()
I talked to the (president?) of the ASBC and he said she looks to be a 1st generation blue cream( aka porcelain) and I could breed her to a self blue to start producing the blue cream line.
