He makes me want Polish again!! I love seeing his pretty laced coloring and v-comb. I bet he'll make beautiful babies with her silkies! I have a thing for v-combs, I think they're very cool. I used to have a pair of nonbearded WCB. Both parents got killed (this was back when I freeranged almost constantly) but I kept the son they produced, and planned on getting him a nice quality hen, unfortunately he got mauled by a dog and died
He had almost double the crest of his father, I don't know if he inherited a lucky gene or what, but I miss him. I may have to get me another pair, seeing the pics of Toulouse are making the Polish itch unbearable again
I miss my polish/silkie cross too. Please, chicksnherps, post pics if you get babies to hatch!
What do yall feed silkies on a regular bases plus any supplements and what have yall avoided/ added to feed to help prevent certain diseases and disorders specific to silkies thanx!!!

I have heard to give them higher protein food, like 21-22% multi flock or starter/grower and just supplement oyster shell. Because they are not daily layers.

Great thread! Love seeing everyone's silkies! I have some new Silkie chicks and was wondering what color they might be. The two I am wondering about are the bright buff w the spots on its head and the creamy white with a tinge of grey all over. Any ideas?

That buff is strange =) would be interesting to see what it looks like when it gets older! The other one may be a grey or a self blue, or even a splash possibly.
