Heres some of the chicks that hatched. 17/18 hatched so far. 1 left. Had somebody come today, took 3 chicks and my dwarf pullet.

I'm thinking the same thing, that he's blue and not black. Look at his under down, is it light? If it is he's blue.
As to PQ or BQ, use him one time to breed. If you get outstanding chicks from him then he's certainly BQ. Some of the ugliest birds make the most beautiful peeps. That's why I focus on BQ birds.

My advice should have included that no DQ faults are present. Such as four toes on both feet.

Such nice chicks...how do you post a photo to the discussion i would like to show you some of my sons buffs we have 16 now 1 month and 2 month olds...only about 4 have any smuttie feathers as yet...good toes and wonderful foot feathering and so far very dark eyes,,,time will tell i guess
