Silkie thread!

Just wanted to share this quick photo. I have two Catdance Silkies that decided to go broody together. Lucille, the lavender was born last May and Priscilla, the porcelain was born in June.

I had gotten them some eggs (we don't have a roo) but none were developing so in the meantime I had a few Wheaten Ameraucana eggs in the incubator. The last of the 4 hatched yesterday so I brought them out to the broodys who clucked happily trying to herd those little chicks underneath them.

I checked again this morning and all chicks were contentedly resting under their adoptive moms! Lucille and Priscilla seem to be doing a great job co-parenting their new charges.

The pic just shows one curious baby - it's siblings were tucked safely away under the fluff!

So cute!!

Really precious photo!

Here is my grey chick, the rooster was a grey patridge and my hen is a splash. I am pretty sure this is a rooster. I think it looks very similar to Mumsys rooster:) not sure if I will keep him. I have a buff rooster and only want to keep one roster, anyone weighing on roo or pullet.
That's a beautiful chick!
Sistas!

Fuzzy butt!

Nori looks just wonderful!!
Nice weather forecasted this weekend, I will get pics of the Catdance chicks I got from Chicknlove

Wish I had some good advise. I don't think anyone feeds better than you do! I feed alfalfa leaf free choice for vitamins and minerals. Egg yolk and meal worms for extra potein. I think you do the same. Maybe the FF would help.
Thank you for your answer,
Yes I already give her all that good stuff and some flax seed, red cell, wheat germ oil, calf manna, etc... Her face looks a bit better, but her crest is still very scabby. I am just too scared to spray her again. I will wait a week or two and then decide. Thanks again.
Looks boyish to me too.
I first bought a bottle of Braggs unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar. When that bottle started to get low, I bought a gallon of plain apple cider vinegar, poured off a half cup and poured in a half cup of the stuff with mother. I put a folded up coffee filter over the top secured with a rubber band and put it in a dark cool closet. It developed a blob of mother over the next month. I started another gallon by buying frozen organic apple juice and mixing it into another gallon of apple cider vinegar plain. I poured in another cup or two of the Braggs. It's been six months now and I have not had to buy another bottle of Braggs since that first bottle. I've been making my own. It tastes delicious too. I use it in my salad vinaigrette.

My home made apple cider vinegar with mother floating freely within.
Thank you SO much. It seems very easy. I spend a lot of money on ACV, that is definitely going to help. The result looks nice, a lot more clear and cleaner than the Braggs I buy at the store.

Thanks Tina,
Your words mean a lot to me. I just didn't have the courage to do it... I sat down for quite a while and kept an eye on her... and couldn't do it. It's already difficult to do it whenever they are only chicks, but her she is not a little chick anymore. Anyway, I will wait a bit more and decide to put her down if I see more and more blood. Thank you again

I understand... I can't do it either. I'm going to send you a PM on FB.
