Silkie thread!

This is my white silkie named CreamPuff at 6 months. She is pretty small for being 6 months!

Babies!!! We are bringing the majority of them inside since they are still hatching and she has already hatched 9. We have lost one during hatch, one isn't doing very good, so I left it under momma, and 2 that haven't gotten their land legs yet that I left under her also. So she has five eggs and 3 kids under her right now. Better than juggling 14! lol I think the little silver colored ones are my favorite.

Adorable! Congrats.

My silkie with the head twisting thing is doing worse. her head isn't twisting as bad now, but she is having a hard time walking :( I'm worried about mareks.

I thought I would post here to see what you all think.

We found a Silkie today in the middle of nowhere walking up the grass verge soaking wet and freezing cold. We tried a small cottage that was near but no one was home and there was no sign of hens in their yard. We also tried a few more houses but they were nearly a mile further on up the lane - so chances are she got caught by a Fox and could have been brought from anywhere.
She has lost a deal of feathers around the wing tips and back end, tail etc. But she looks to have gotten away without any injuries to the skin.

I was looking on the net and think she looks like a Calico Silkie???? This is one off the Net I got????? This is not her she is in the pic below.

This is a rooster, so he was probably dumped =( But he looks nice! I think he is a partridge color. Do you plan to keep him? I would keep him quarantined from the rest for a while, and check him over good for any bugs or leg mites. A good bath may be in order ;)

How do you know for sure he is a rooster?????? No crowing just cherping. Anyhow my SIL might take him if he is a boy. He didn't look dumped as he has had a lot of feathers pulled from the wings and tail end like he was got by a Fox and carried, but managed to escape. We don;t have him with any of the flock he is in a cat cage right now and has meds but he will get a good going over!
