Silkie thread!

So I thought I would update: My cute Silkies are warming up to me ! My rooster walks up to me now ,he won't take food from my hand yet but I think he gets that I'm the awesome lady who brings treats!! I am also having a problem with them learning how to use the ramp to get outside in their run. Any ideas I would hate to have to cut another door in my coop?

I got the dried meal worms that they love and put a trail of them up the ramp as they sit at the bottom they learn fast to walk up the ramp.

Evedintly the food on one side is better than the other. The d'Uccle and polish are doing fine. When I checked on them at bed time last night they were roosted and fine. This morning all were well too. Now to get these Silkies out of the house.

I agree girl boy girl, nut not positive on #1. I would say #3 is a partridge based on the stripes. Is it as slivery blue as the pictures show? If so I woukd call ger a silver partridge. I'm no expert though.

Geez.... Its pouring the rain again. I hope my d'Uccle and Polish make it.
Thanks for the guess! I kind of assumed it is a partridge. Yes, it does have a silvery blue color to it. It displayed it's wings just for me and it shows on those wings a brownish color with a pattern. The rest of it's fluffy self below it's head is a silvery blue.

The two chicks my Ella hatched out on the 21st. They're a bit different from the brooder chicks I've had. They are in constant contact with Ella when they're out exploring the pen. She clucks at them, they cheep back at her. The brooder chicks were generally more quiet unless somebody got upset over something. They also don't really huddle with each other like my other chicks did. When they're out from under mom, they're doing their own thing independent from each other. They also don't always listen. She'll call them back and they don't always come running.

My little 8 week old chicks from a broody hen almost never shut up with the peep peep peep. If I am out there they are always talking. I've never had chicks to make so much noise and at this age as these little silkies. Your little ones are so adorable. Pretty color.

I'm glad your silkies are getting more friendly. Chicks are sort of like teenagers at times. They have to act like they don't like you so they can be independent. At least that's what I tell myself. My original chicks I got from the hatchery were much friendlier than the ones that hatch from the broody hen. Right up until she starts bring them to me. Also the older she gets the less she keeps them from me, too. I guess we are all learning.
