Silkie thread!

Odd question but how big is the brooder. I like how there are 10 good sized silkies and there is still space.
We took two boxes that were about a foot and a half square and cut down one of the corners on each box. We spread them open and taped them up and then taped another flat peice of cardboard for the bottom. So its sort of a long hexagon I think at the longest point it is about 5 feet by 3 feet wide with 11 chicklets in it. :)

Where's the 11th one?

My mystery rumpless splash with the weird-looking vent finally has a known gender. She went broody today. I thought our white silkie Cottonball had started laying eggs, but I found Pinto in a nest all flattened out surrounded by her own feathers warming an egg. For as much good as it did, I gave her a look-over and am keeping my fingers crossed that she'll keep passing eggs with no problems. I guess we should call her Pinta now.

This is from late September when I took her in to clean her up and she pooped on my counter.
