Silkie thread!

Out of curiosity... This little pink egg came from my Sicilian Buttercup (first egg today!) my curiosity is regarding the size compared to a normal Silkie egg...? Bigger, smaller, same? The egg next to it is from an Easter Egger. The green egg is about the size of a store bought medium to large size egg. Thoughts?

What exactly are you asking? If you are thinking the egg is abnormally small, silkie eggs are normally on the small side since they're bantams

Sigh, my fluffy little showgirl has turned out to be a showman

I always had a feeling. Still going to keep him, he's a quirky, spunky little fellow, and the only showgirl I have. I simply got it for yard candy anyway (I've always wanted a showgirl just to have one). I'm going to have to take him out of the white silkie pen where he currently resides if I plan on hatching though, I can't have him breeding with my good white girls.

Sorry she is a he, but he is stunning! He definitely is some sweet yard candy!

Fellow silkie lovers! I started a thread for all of us who are incubating, brooding and hatching chicks this month and into the New Year. Please join us and share your pictures, comments, questions and knowledge. There will be folks over there who are new to hatching, those who have hatched only a few times and folks who are hatching gurus. Please be supportive, helpful and patient. Good luck and hope to see many pics of Holiday Chicks!
Best wishes,
Tina Gabel
