Silkie thread!

Have you all seen anything like this in a brand new chick? There is a 'bump' just forward and under of where his wing skin is. I am wondering if his wishbone is floating or something. The wing is moveable but twisted a bit so it look like his is about to put his wrist on his hip sort of like this:

.

He had a hard hatch - pipped but even after a day of having an actually hole - did not proceed and still had blood in the membrane. Was assisted, and eventually hatched a bit over 40 hours after pip. Don't know if the wing/shoulder thing is something I did (not likely, but possible) or if this was why he didn't zip.

At a day old, and fluffy - doing the expected things. Weird wing is barely noticible in the fluff - except when he raises it - then it does not look like the other.

Does not seem to be in pain from it.

Any ideas?

here is my silkie... Adelle...shes a sick birdy this week ... she was not able to stand so to the vet she went pronto she has worms .. shes on meds and a head lamp and today she is standing .. she was saved from the local swap meet where im sure some one would have ate her.... 2 more days of meds and i hope she is all better
Adelle may be an Adam. Did your vet say she or did the seller? Silkies keep their secrets longer than most fowl but the Partridge male tends to be more vibrant red than the female. Either way they make great pets.

You can go to the "Where Am I, Where Are You?" section, find the thread for NC and ask if there are any breeders near you :)

Adelle looks alot like Master Shifu did a few months ago. This was taken a few minutes after he attacked a Raven that had grabbed his girl Po. Thank goodness for my older roosters and my chicken gaurding JRT. That Raven did not know what to do.

Hi everyone. Could you critique my Silkie hen? I've had her for a while now but only since I bought 5 other silkies that I noticed she was so much fluffier than they were (I suspect they were low quality silkies). I'm not interested in showing but I'd like to know where she is on the scale.

Note: She just got over a bit of a cold so she's a tad on the thin side. We are keeping her in the house until she gains some weight, but today was a good day for photos. :)

(You can see she's a bit thin in this photo especially. Don't worry, she's eating great now! Back up to weight in no time.)
