Silkie thread!

Pretty sure that at 3 days the baby is getting silkie feathers.

Stupid question but is there anything i should knpw about silkies? ive been on google and found some info but not alot. im getting some silkie chicks in feb so any info to help me raise them right would help

From the comb I can see I would say that #'s 2 &5 are roos cant see enough of the others to tell one way or another. Something is saying girl about #1, but at 3 months its really hard to tell good clear pics of their combs would help.

Thanks! I know the last one, black, Chance, is a boy. He is the one who crows. I think blue #5 is a boy.. The partridge I am thinking girl, also black #1 and white #3 I think are girls. The other white and the splash I'm still questioning, Here is the splash front view...
And for no good reason at all.. my alpaca Rio, who is just plain cute

Comb looks pretty small. If I had to guess now I would say girl Rio is too stinking cute.

He is really good at cheesing for the camera. Does a deeper voice in a silkie chick mean anything? I have noticed some of my chicks have deeper raspier chirps.

Just wanted to share with you our sweet little day #20 baby! Happy hatch day little one!

I went in to check on my broody today. One of her eggs was laying next to her. I freaked out! It was cold. I feared the worst. About 2 hours later I candled it to see what was going on inside and believe it or not that little booger was moving all over the place. I think we get a little paranoid about the chicks in eggs. They are pretty tough. She didn't know it wasn't under her. When I placed it in front of her she tucked it and puffed up at me. She is a good momma.

The baby has white tipped toes!! Can you guys tell...does it look like a black or blue? Dad was black...mom was white.

I raised mine just like other chicks. You will get all kinds of answers to that question. Get your self some baby Polly Visol vitamins with out iron and research wyreneck (sp). I haven't had to deal with it but many do.
