Such cute babies!

Here are mine that hatched March 22-23.

Dinky has some urate stuck in her fluff. I think it's from the stress of moving outside :(

Inky is the paint and I'm pretty sure is a boy :(. Dinky is the white and I think she's a pullet.

I just discovered I have a white silkie hen with a big ol single black comb. I got her from a big show name breeder and she has excellent type otherwise. Should I cull her? From what I have read it pops up occasionally but she may not produce offspring with it. What would you do?

If it were me, I would make sure the roo you put on her has a PERFECT comb and see how those babies turn out--you can always sell the first batch as PQ, just make sure you sell to someone that will keep in touch and let you know what their combs turn out like if you dont want to keep them all to find out?? As long as you arent selling them as SQ and are open with your buyers, I would at least give her a chance, esp since she is perfect otherwise..

Do you think that the breeder would replace her?

I wouldn't breed her. If you start with DQ's then ultimately you are not breeding to standard. I don't breed single combs or 4 toed birds, and both traits do occasionally pop up. She will still make a very pretty layer.
