Silkie thread!

they are so cute! are these the ones from your broody chook??
so far only one chick blue, I think, has a beard like the ones in your pictures, can they grow over time?

Same parentage as yours. In my experience the bearded are easily identified in the the first week.
This partridge isn't bearded.

Here are my three Roos! They are 8 months old. I knew they're not show quality but they're the best pets I could ask for. I'm going to get a 7 month old black Silike hen to add to the group( I only have one other hen). What are something's I should do when getting a new adult bird to add into a flock? Let me know what you guys think about the Roos and about adding a new member! Thanks

quarantine for a minimum of 3 weeks, 6 is better of you can swing it. Then once her quarantine is over, go ahead and put her in a cage or sectioned off part of the run so they can see each other but not hurt eachother. If you plan on letting your boys run with your girls, you'll need about 28 more hens.

Your boys are lovely. Roosters are a bit like bulls, they'll get along just fine till you throw a girl into the mix. If it is at all possible , I would give them a hen each, even then there are no guarantees that one of your boys won't ' step up ' and assume the position of ' alpha male ' and claim all of the hens for himself.
As subhanalah said, if you intend to add adult birds to your flock quarantine is a must. I personally quarantine new birds for 6 weeks because with some infectious diseases it can take 4-6 weeks for them to cycle or rear their ' ugly heads '.
I house 2 x roosters in with 3-4 hens and that seems to work for me.

My bearded are pretty obvious early on in the piece.

This little one is now jet black. I'll get a more recent pic this weekend.
how do you guys get such beautiful pictures???? Awesome
