Silkie thread!

Walnut is the shape mulberry is in reference to colour. When trying to determine sex an early red comb is a sure sign it's a roo.
This is a mulberry coloured walnut shaped comb.

My silkie finally stopped peeping yesterday. Heard a ruckus in the other room (even with headphones on!) and went in there to see who was getting attacked. The two cochins were roosting. The silkie was pacing the cage squawking up a storm! So loud! Such a goofball.

@ihavechickens2 I love the all black smooth sizzle! So fluffy and gorgeous!!!!!!

Thanks again

Hats off to you and FancyChookLady for the rescues and disabled that you both care for!  Silkies have soft skulls and it's a miracle that Lucky survived even with your nursing skill.  I'm so sorry she lost the sight of that injured eye.

One of our Silkies also is a door knocker and a pants tugger and a shoe tapper when she wants things.  It's amazing how demanding a little 2-lb bird can become but we just love ours.

FancyChookLady just recently rescued a race horse that had been kicked in its face.  Maybe you saw her adorable bantam boy she posted that has curled feet but still gets around.  It takes special people to care for disabled pets but then we are to be the good stewards of animals to the best of our ability. Really amazing rescue work you all do.

Thanks Syl,

It seems FancyChook Lady and I share a passion for these special little beings. I never hesitate to take them. On as they always reward with so much love in return.

My skills were needed again on the weekend when Miss Sable, my black ewe was left with an almost de- gloved front leg. The laceration was to the bone and she was unable to walk on it. With coaxing I was able to help her up the paddock to the shelter for attention. She is still very lame but will be ok. Her friend the alpaca is distraught she is locked up but he is keeping her company on the outside of the gate. The male sheep just wants to do what males do......men!!!! Lol. Have posted photos of Sable and Dexter the alpaca. Enjoy!!

Debra.

Hi Suzierd,

Yes I was and I'm sorry for the mix up.....still trying to get used to this posting stuff! Think I'm getting there. Lol.
Her colour is beautiful, but now that I've seen her parents, it's no wonder. They are gorgeous too. Love the blue...just a magic hue!

Take care,
