Silkie thread!

Fancychooklady Thank you! So far so good. The girls look healthy and happy... Fingers crossed they can join their big sisters (EE's and SLW) by next spring in the big coop.:fl

I have 2 silkie roos who have been raised together. They are about 5 months old and they were fighting today. I have them separated at the moment. Any advice?

Does anyone have any manly looking girls? I'm hoping my red that hasn't crowed yet is a girl... I have too many boys and need to start looking for homes for them.
Please post photos of your girl that looks like a boy.

Once they become sexually active they need to establish who will be ' top roo ' . Sometimes after a little ' argy bargy things will return to normal and the coop will be harmonious again. But be vigilant if it gets too rough separate them and consider re homing one of them. I have 2 Roos living happily with 5 hens.

Maybe I'm just being overprotective as I actually saw them fighting. They'd probably been at it all day and I didn't have a clue until this evening.
