What exactly makes a splash? I have a silkie chick that hatched about two months ago. It's not white, but it's not blue either. I'll take a pic tomorrow

Some of the feathers appear barred not splashed. Could you take a picture of the chick's wings spread? Splash markings appear random. There can be many splash marks or a few. There can be light splash and dark. Here are a few pictures of my splash birds when they were the same age as your chick to give you an idea.

Thank you Silkiecuddles! Breeding season is in full swing, and today was a chance for getting pens outside and into the sunshine. I gave the Partridge pen a chance in the sunshine today as well. Everybody's happy. . Fuzzbucket my foundation Partridge, Red Barney, and "Pup Down". He is Paint x white recessive. Partridge genes hooked up. He is stunning and I have five little chicks sired by him this year. He will be a year old next month. My friends toddler can't say touch down during football games and says "Pup down" instead. I thought that was a cute name for a rooster. So my partridge guy is known as "Mr. Pup Down". His first babies are awesome! The partridge chicks were expected. The lavender/buff chicks were not. They are beautiful dilutes. My Paint roo passes a lav gene. Mr. Pup Down passes it on.

That Roo is Gorgeous! I love him!

I love him too. He is my favorite guy out of eleven breeding silkie roos this year. He has great personality along with stunning looks. I wish I had more quality colored hens for him. I really hope he gives me a few good daughters.

I just got six silkie chicks yesterday and they are two days old i already love them so much two blacks but can't tell what the other chicks are I know there is two of each color can you help don't have pictures yet oh and I also have 9 brown leghorns and 1 rooster that has some breed of bantom in him we just got him to keep the girls happy
