Silkie thread!

Hi everyone!

I sadly wanted to let y'all know that my large hen, Marilyn, I got around April to be our large roosters buddy, Marvin, was attacked by a Hawk and died a week later!

We had her a total of seven months! She was loved and lived the life of a Queen while she was with us! We buried her in our chicken grave yard!

Aw I'm so sorry that happened. That is all we can do for our birds, is give them the love and best life they can possibly have, even if it is short. She is a beloved hen and remembered forever in your heart and your friends at backyardchickens :)

At what age can silkie chicks come out of the brooder and into their own little coop? Mine are about a month old?? Gotta look again... they seem fully feathered but not like ADULT FULLY FEATHERED... they can just about fly a little bit. They got all silkie feathers in, but it doeant cover their eyes or head yet.. They are about 6 inches tall... maybe 7...

Its my first time having silkies and they arent near as easy to tell as large fowl are... they still seem like chicks to me... but i got chicks that are passing them up in size quick haha...
