Yes the Silkies and Cochin are from Ideal
I was not sure which ones I would like better so I did and experiment from Ideal to see.
I love the Frizzled frizzle cochin she is sooo soo soft.
I still dont know which I prefer

They are both great gentle breeds.

I would love frizzled cochins!! but in standard because I only have standards but I'm thinking of building a new coop so i can get bantam cochins

My Bantam roo is in with my standards.
Actually I only have bantam roos but have 3 now with more developing as we speak I think

Thanks. Can you tell by looking if someone might lay an egg soon. They are so much different from other chickens.

Should be anytime, they're about 7 months and the days are getting longer. Depends on how far north you are, too this time of year. Are they roosting or sleeping in a nest box?

I thought they were all white but some are turning yellow and the one by the water has stripes on its back. I hatched them to sell since my egg sourse had a few. I don't know hardly anything about silkies or their colors. I will look up partridge.

White silkies produce some unpredictable results when bred. Their genetics are complex.
