Thank you! Most of them are blue black and splash, but one of my pens (my "fun pen") throws some chicks that are partridge-ish, white and some non standard color that looks something like wheaton.

Our first time using an incubator, too. We ordered shipped Silkie eggs in blue, splash, buff, partridge, and red. It was neat to see your variety colored chicks.

where did you get them shipped from? seems like everyone who ships eggs is very far from us in NO. CA. i started wth 12 shipped eggs...i THINK i might have 6 good ones. will post when they hatch. good luck with yours!!!

Mine were from FL and I'm in SC, so not too far. At first candle %64 were showing signs of life. They were set on Jan. 21.

So, more news on my girl Taylor;

About a week and a half back, she did relapse. Worse than the last time I think. She had no balance, no control over her body at all. It happened basically overnight.

I returned to handfeeding her for the next week. This, of course, had to happen at the same time as I was planning to go to the big PPBA show in Modesto, to buy some birds and look around. So Taylor did end up going on a little road trip with me!

It was actually Saturday at the show that I went out to the car to check on her that I found this:

Her head was still pretty tweaked, and every so often she would go over on her back, but she was walking, eating, and drinking!

And on Monday:

I'm so glad she's better right now, but does anyone know if I should expect her to continue relapsing? Will it stop at some point as she grows? Should I expect to need to keep her on vitamin supplements her whole life?

Queenmisha I can see why you adore her. She will always be a ' special needs ' girl. Have you changed her feed regime? As I have posted in the past , once you have had wryneck in your flock , it is time to take a look at the feed and it is also wise to add a multi vitamin to the feed on a regular basis. :)

Ok so I recently bought two new black silkie roosters, show quality to use for my cuckoo sizzle/showgirl project pen. One of them has a short/fuller neck that I like but a long back and smaller tail that I don't. The other has a slightly longer neck but shorter back and longer tail that I like but he also seems to have a wry tail and an injury to his eye(which I know isn't necessarily genetic depending on how he got it). Which would ya'll use for breeding. I really like the second but am thinking use the first. Or I could use both but I would have to work and cull out more.
