Silkie thread!

Triple P is in Latrobe, PA
Geri Godina is in the Meadville area
Poultry lane is in Waynesboro
Murano farm is in Boyers
I don't know if they ship. I'm pretty sure they all have websites that you could check out, though. I get all my information on breeders from the American Silkie Bantam Club directory. It's great organization to be apart of and support.
thank you! 'i will look them up. I am not certain where any of these areas are in relation to me

We even had to tell the employees that there were dead chicks in the tune and they said as they were taking them out they said who dear what could have happened to them I wish I would have said something but it wouldn't have been pretty

Pasty butt is usually a result of overheating and dehydration. Perhaps you could bring that to their attention and educate them a little. :)

I put One Eye and Green in crates to brood last night. One Eye immediately took to the eggs I gave her and also has thoroughly let me know that she has a very sharp beak! Green was a little bit unsure but once she realized what they were she settled down on them happily. They are now sitting on a total of 8 Silkie and 4 Booted Bantam eggs, half of each to each hen.

Very cute!! Good luck with your hatch!

I used to live in the Langhorne area, back in my nanny days, and would drive up to stock shows in Lancaster on weekends. Quite a few Amish young ladies sold Silkies as well as other breeds there. Pristine cages, and birds. Never saw one that looked ill or stressed! OFCOURSE not sure about show quality, but feel they were well cared for.

Thanks for your thoughts Caleb's Chicks! I really can't explain it - and actually the research I've down point to a possible vitamin deficiency? Not sure of course - I have been giving her st johns wart, sunflower seeds and electrolytes daily. I think she has improved some - but not enough! I think it is too late to get silkie chicks fair - they need time to fill out and fair is at the end of July.

I am definitely looking to improve my breeding stock this year. Towards the end of the hatching season I will be in the market for some nice silkie eggs!

OH drat! I am so sorry! Your daughter will be so disappointed! If I had only started my plans last year, I would have definitely overnighted a started pullet for her! I am getting quite a few over next few months/year to start up my sons and my project! What color was she again? Black wasn't it?
