Silkie thread!

Oh my goodness my silkie just laid her first egg!!! Unless it was my Buff Orpington... but she is only 12 weeks old. I'm so proud of her!!! I've never had chickens before so this is my first egg ever

I have two 5 month old "pullets" I hope. The first one is a silkie. The feathering on her head is extreme. Could she be a he? No comb or waddles developing. The second one is a sizzle out of my partridge silkie roo. I thought she was a she. Three weeks ago she went after my rooster that was in a separate pen separated by a fence. She drew blood on his comb. Her comb and waddles are getting a purplish hue. I so hope she isn't a he.

Please give me your thoughts on their sexes.

Thank you

That Buff is to die for - she's beautiful! The Partridge has pretty blue ears and has stunning color.

hello, I'm 20 years old next Monday, we just moved into the country my junior year of high school and I'm going to be getting my very first chickens soon- my grandmother is going to buy me a silkie chick! there are several breeders in my area, any tips???

Get more than one. Most chickens are clannish in my experience. Silkies can't see well and get picked on by aggressive breeds
