Is it only chicken wire? That is really only good to keep the chickens in...it won't keep much out. I believe there are many preditors that can rip/eat through chickenwire. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm not sure about culling the chick with one wing. If she seemed ok, I wouldn't...but, I wouldn't want her to suffer.

she seems to be fine eating drinking there is a little piece of bone sticking out where the wing was i am thinking of culling it just to make sure it does not suffer there is no place around here open this weekend to get anything to treat it. weard thing is is there is no blood

Thank you.

I am so sorry, any thing and every thing loves chickens. Silkies can not run fast or see very well with all there fluff. A mouse will go in first, then every thing will follow. You need to put this on the Emergence forum where you can get the help you need as soon as you can. I have saved a hen from a dog that got here but it was thee mounts in the long hall. It also was not a silkie, my heart goes out to you. Chicken wire is just to divide pens and that is all.

Just because there small does not mean they don't have heart. They have a set a lungs on them and quickly learn how to use them. I would say they can crow just as load as any other chicken.

If there is bone exposed she is very subject to massive infection. Either cull or see if someone will close the injury up.
