Silkie thread!

@FishMtFarm I have one girl that insist that she is going to be broody. I have eggs in the incubator and as of last night day 7 candle I have all 12 that have wiggling embryos. If I brought her in and let her hatch them inside when and how do I bring her and chicks back to flock. I will put her in a dog crate I added hardware cloth up the sides to keep chicks in and I can always move that back outside to the coop. What would you recommend, is it worth bringing her in or should I just leave eggs in bator and brood them myself like I planed.

What I would do is leave her outside in a secluded place on some dummy eggs. Hatch your eggs in the incubator and then give her the hatchlings once they are 24 hours old. A broody hen will accept babies most often.

Safest to give them when it's still dark out. Some hens freak if you do it in the daylight. Plus the chicks won't try and come out until it is light. Lets them get used to each other and bond. Hen gets used to the chicks under her and assumes the eggs hatched in the night. I'm always out checking them at first light and off and on the first day

Gender on the partridge? I’m thinking pullet. Supposedly 4-5 months. I’ve had these since the beginning of December. I’m already up to 3 cockerels out of the bunch.

Hello friends. Question about candleing eggs. Tonight is day 14, not really sure what to look for. Aircells have grown slightly from day 7 but I think they were a little to large on day 7. I definitely saw movement in at least 10/12. Should I be checking anything else?
